Annual conference on European VAT Law

Law Square will attend and contribute to ERA’s annual conference on VAT law to be held on 23-24 November in Trier, Germany.

ERA, the Academy of European Law, will hold in Trier on 23-24 November 2017, its Annual conference on European VAT Law. This conference is targeted at legal practitioners specialising in VAT and intends to provide them with an update on the most recent developments in legislation and jurisprudence in this domain. Following the introduction and the policy update from the European Commission presented by Maria Elena Scoppio, Head of Unit, Value Added Tax, DG TAXUD, European Commission, renowned speakers will approach the topics of the digitalisation of the global economy, transfer pricing adjustments and VAT, Big data and VAT, VAT grouping and cost-sharing, VAT on public sector activities, the European Commission’s infringement policy, Brexit and the EU VAT law system, amongst other issues.

As an expert in this field, Ine Lejeune, Partner Tax Policy – Dispute Resolution & Litigation, has been invited to participate in this notorious event. Together with Mariken van Hilten, Judge at the Supreme Court of the Netherlands and Professor of Indirect Taxes at the University of Amsterdam, she will review and discuss the recent Case Law of the CJEU in the area of VAT.
